DESIGN & SELECTION

Specify the duty.
Complete the configuration.

Share both fluids, flow rates, inlet and outlet temperatures, allowable pressure drop and design conditions. Material, nozzle and pass selections follow these inputs.

Separate welded channels

Alternating channels keep the fluids separated by the formed metal plates. Heat passes through the plate walls.

Access for maintenance

Removable side panels open access to the welded core for inspection and cleaning. Plan access space around the unit.

PROCESS DUTY & MAINTENANCE

Specify HEXCBLOC 15 for the actual service.

Refinery, petrochemical and chemical duties

Assess heating, cooling and heat recovery, or a selected condensation or reboiler duty, using both fluid specifications and the complete operating range.

Refinery selection requirements

Fouling and mechanical cleaning

Channel and pass selection must balance heat transfer, pressure drop and expected deposits. The exchanger is not fouling-proof. Removable panels provide access for inspection and suitable mechanical cleaning.

Plan cleaning and inspection

Steam and phase-change service

Provide phase-change pressure, vapour conditions and drainage requirements. Material, seal and flow-arrangement suitability require confirmation for the selected model and duty.
